Crossing the Bar Ministries
Providing a safe place for those left isolated by trauma and PTSD...
... because no one should have to walk
through trauma alone.
Crossing the Bar Ministries offers Christ-centered support, community, prayer, encouragement, and resources for
people affected by PTSD, trauma, grief, and painful life experiences.

Maybe you're wondering...
Do I really have PTSD?
Why am I pushing people away?
Why am I always on guard?
Will anyone understand?
Why can't I just get over what happened?
Why can't I sleep?
Can God really help me?
You aren't weak.
You aren't alone.
And what happened to you does not have to define the rest of your life.
A Safe Place to Begin
Crossing the Bar Ministries exists for people who have been affected by trauma and PTSD and may feel isolated, misunderstood, or unsure where to turn.
We provide a place where people can be heard, encouraged, prayed with, connected with others, and guided toward appropriate resources.
You don't have to tell your entire story today.
You can simply take the first step.
Trauma Doesn't Look the Same for Everyone
Military service; Abuse; Childhood trauma; Serious accidents; Violence; Natural disasters; Grief and loss; Witnessing a traumatic event; First-responder experiences; Other life-changing experiences
All of these have been known to begin a battle with PTSD, even something as seemingly simple as a broken ankle. Chances are high that you or someone very close to you is deep in this battle and doesn't even realize it.
Your experience doesn't have to look like someone else's
for your pain to be real
How We Help
- Prayer & Faith: We believe God cares about the wounds we carry and that faith can be an important part of the healing journey.
- Community: Connection can help break isolation.
- Finding your Identity: Explore who you are beyond what happened to you.
- Practical Resources: Learn about PTSD, trauma, relationships, emotional health, faith, and appropriate support.
- Small Groups: Healing doesn't have to happen alone.
- Professional Resources: We encourage appropriate professional care when needed.
You Are More Than What Happened to You!
Trauma can become part of your story without becoming your identity. You are still a parent, a spouse, a friend, a veteran, a survivor, a child of God, and a person with a future.
Your story isn't over!
Where Should I Begin?
- I think I may have PTSD.
- I know I am struggling.
- Someone I love has PTSD.
- I want to understand the Christian perspective.
You don't have to have all the answers. You don't have to know exactly what you need. You don't have to tell your whole story today.
Start where you are.
